This one hits close to home. We have spent enormou

This one hits close to home. We have spent enormous amounts of time in Half Moon Bay.

We went there for our first Father’s Day, shortly after moving to California, and were shocked when it was 40 degrees and cloudy. Our introduction to June gloom!

Half Moon Bay is where we got our Christmas trees and our Halloween pumpkins when the kids were little. We celebrated countless birthdays at Lemos Farms petting goats and riding ponies. One of our favorite restaurants, Sam’s Chowder House, is there. We have spent so many weekends grabbing take out from there and then walking down to the sand to picnic.

We have gone to the tide pools and jumped over the sand dunes and climbed the rocks and played in the sand and kayaked in the ocean in Half Moon Bay more times than I can count.

So to hear about the shooting there hits too close to home.

We are the only country in the world where this regularly happens. We are the only country where guns kill more children than anything else. Children! We are the only country that has had more mass shootings than days of the year this year. 38! And it’s still January.

Call your representatives and demand they finally doing something about this major health crisis in America. Stop voting for candidates who refuse to take action. We shouldn’t have to live like this. Enough is enough.

WE ARE HOME! All is well. We lost one huge tree that Gabe is having the time of his life chainsawing away at. It just missed the house thankfully! It even missed the little planter next to it - a very polite fallen tree.

Thank you for all the well wishes! And thanks especially to @jenthebabe for rescuing us and feeding us and letting my kids fight on her sofa just as if they were home!

Not all of California was as lucky as we were and my heart goes out to everyone who suffered a major loss. 💔 Mother Nature is no joke when she’s mad.

2022 was “The Year of the Virus” in our family

2022 was “The Year of the Virus” in our family. Every major holiday and birthday was marred by someone having something (this is Thanksgiving with influenza A). We had it all. Covid. Influenza. Norovirus. Lots of random colds and coughs that lasted forever. It was like all the viruses hiding since 2019 said GOTCHA!!! And boy did they get us. I’m over it. So here’s to a ✨ HEALTHY ✨ 2023!
